About POAP

Proof of Attendance Protocols, or POAPs, are ERC-721 tokens that allow attendees to validate their records of life experiences. POAPs provide proof of involvement and attendance at key times to other users. POAP collectors receive a digital badge backed by a cryptographic record in the form of an NFT. Each has a distinct design that adds collectability and allows event organizers to provide more value.

The Need For NFTs

The need of creating NFTs soulbound to enable proof of achievement was noted by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in January. Lucas Verra, CEO of POAP, said:

“Securing and protecting your digital memories, like the POAP you can collect with your Ledger Nano S Plus, is a must for anyone building their lifelong collection.”

A Special Engraving In The Genesis Edition

A unique engraving will be included in the Genesis Edition of the Ledger Nano S Plus. A card reformable for a Genesis POAP NFT will be included with each shipment, allowing users to carry proof of the most exclusive hardware wallet in their digital wallets as well. POAP will also be producing limited-edition NFTs for future Ledger events.

Ian Rogers, Ledger’s chief experience officer, gave these certain remarks regarding the development of limited-edition NFTs: “This partnership with POAP and launch of the Ledger Nano S Plus Genesis Edition at an affordable price marks the acknowledgment that digital assets will only increase as a tool for life experiences, and we want to bring millions more into Web3 securely; as it happens.”

Ledger Nano S Plus

The Ledger Nano S Plus is the company’s first hardware wallet after the launch of the Ledger Nano X in 2019. According to the company, approximately 4.5 million Ledger Nano hardware wallets have been sold, with Ledger devices protecting nearly 20% of the world’s digital assets. The Nano S Plus accepts a wide range of digital assets, including over 5,500 coins and tokens, as well as NFTs.

POAP NFTs are an excellent place for people to save their collections of just about any form of event, experience, or memorable occasion they’ve had. With the new Ledger Nano S Plus, you can protect your assets while exploring Web3.
