The Photon Project is one of the newest NFTs (non-fungible tokens) out there. However, it is one of the most interesting and mysterious ones. Many different NFTs can catch your attention, but Photon is really something. Just the title may get you hooked, “The First Particles of the Metaverse Powered by Quantum Computers”. So, what’s this project about, and what are some of its goals? Let’s have a look.
The Photon Project
The official minting for this collection has officially started on the 24th of October for 0.06 ETH per one NFT. The Photon Project is a collection of 9,998 Metaverse Particles NFTs generated using a quantum computer (in other words, with true randomness). AI and random generation aspect of non-fungible tokens are the attractive features that many projects chose as it’s another way to make better products.
Along with the Particle-specific metadata that determines each particle’s properties in the metaverse, each NFT contains a unique quantum determined numerical value inserted into the metadata for use by developers in future applications.

How are these particles made using quantum determination?
“We’re using a quantum computer that measures the “state” of a qubit and generates a binary output (1 or 0). Qubits can be many quantum objects, like a Photon, and initially exist in BOTH states (1 and 0 – spin up and spin down), or superposition. The quantum computer measures the qubit’s state, forcing it into only ONE of the states RANDOMLY.”
Quantum Particle Types
Particles come in 32 Types. Each Type is depicted with a unique symbol. Particle Types determine what sort of (Perks) bonuses are added to your construction and how Particles can Interact. Typically, Types have to match for Particles to interact, but some Types bypass this requirement.
The NFT universe is full of randomly generated faces or characters. The Photon Project is showing that things can be done differently as they created NFTs looking like gems/particles.
